Big Brother,Corus, vodaphone

Suddenly Britain & India seem to be in the news, more for the right reasons. We have had Big Brother, The Tata Corus deal and now its Vodaphone /Hutch hogging headlines.

The question is Should Vodaphone drop Hutch and switch over to Vodaphone in India or retain the branding of Hutch.

so what do you think?

The Hutch name has tremendous brand value. Their puppy campaign worked pretty well esp. in Gujarat. I'd say keep it. If they want to change to Vodafone they need a very strong rebranding campaign.

Vodafone is also a werid name...sounds like vada fone :P

Vodaphone doesn't have a history of retaining acquired brands though!

Past performance is no gaurantee of future results. :-) I think they'll keep Hutch.

I don't care much whether it's Vodafone or Hutch, but I'll be glad if they get rid of the dog.

A case of a dog turning into an albatross.

I'm sure they'll keep hutch at least for a while coz it's a pretty strong brand here. Vodafone did a fantastic campaign called NOW last yr - will try to dig out + post a link

Tata-AIG, ING-Vyvsa, BPL-Sanyo. Post merger it will become Hutch-Vodafone I guess.

economies of scale say it will become vodafone eventually - no doubting that...pity though
