Five new links in the 'Ten'tavive links sidepanel, which features interesting but off-topic links. Interesting things to know but not necessarily important to take up permanent space on the sidepanel. Unlike the other sidepanels, links are organised last in, last out - and not in alphabetical order. And just in case you haven't guessed, the list will always be truncated to 10 links.
1. 20 Greatest Guitar Solos Ever, With Videos: Do I need to say anything else?
2. 60 Seconds in the Life of...: A really interesting idea though I have not once been able to catch any of the videos (something to do with Revver, the video-sharing site they use.) But nonetheless interesting because it got me thinking about something. What would a 60 second unedited, unscripted clip of our consumer(s) show them doing? What if we assemble such 60 second clips of all our target groups/consumers and share them with creative in the brief?
3. BeerAsia: One blogger's account of all the beers - good, bad and ugly - he has drunk while travelling through the Asia Pacific region.
4. Pinewood Dialogues: A collection of conversations where some of the most accomplished film directors of our times discuss their craft and work. Directors include Francis Ford Coppola, Sidney Lumet (my favourite), Robert Altman, David Cronenberg, etc.
5. The All-TIME 100 Albums: Apologies for the second music entry but this collection from Time magazine will serve as a good start for endless discussion/arguments.
All links found via Yahoo! Picks. If any of you do have interesting links you'd like to see added here, do mail them across or leave them in the comments below.

Blaiq rules! Easily my favourite link post during the short time that I have been part of this collective. Yum.
Thanks for sharing your experience
i personally prefer the Rolling Stones listhttp://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/5938174/the_rs_500_greatest_albums_of_all_time/
some (a quick list)of the many conspicuous omissions in the Time list:
- Blood on the Tracks (Bob Dylan's love-torn poetic masterpiece)
- Goat Head's Soup / Sticky Fingers (The Rolling Stone's punch)
- Veedon Fleece (Van Morrison's Irish beauty)
- Of course, The Dark Side of the Moon (Floyd's landmark...btw, Waters in Mumbai was amazing...rekindled my love for the album)
- Pink Moon (listen to Nick Drake's genius in this solo effort)
will add to the list when i can think of more...cheers!
Nick Drake is great. Thanks for that.
Nick Drake is geniusmatic - I love Milk & Honey (also v cool bars)
And Jeff Buckley - Grace/ Lilac wine
Buckley's grace is a great album, Kajal...specially his rendition of COhen's 'Hallelujiah'
absolutement! I think I first noticed it as a soundtrack in a show..
BTW how do you like the now hotties - Jamie Callum, Damien Rice and Michael Buble? I love Damien's v of The Blower's Daughter.. And Jamie's Twentysomething...
out of the three mentioned names, ive just heard damien rice's album 'o'. love all its tracks including 'the blower's daughter' (his original).
personal favorites from the album:
- Cannonball
- Cheers' Daahlin'
- Amie
- and his version of Silent night (its so sad and lonely)
the other guys that you have mentioned...are they good?
ps: loads of movies/seriels/shows have used this songs various renditions. buckley's version was used by vh1 beautifully in a post 9/11 monatge.

as you can see Iqbal, i still havent got the trick which you tried teaching me.
ooh... very cool list- I'm listening to The Doors and then the Beach Boys playlist on my ipod!
Meraj - yup, Jamie C's stuff is gorgeous! twentysomething, this ole devil and his cover of 'lover, you should hv come over' - give it a listen sometime..
BTW I love Cheers Darlin' - I sing it to my dog all the time.
IQ - I haven't got how to do links in posts either. Can you tell us again please?
@Fink : You mean links in comments because links in posts, you already create them.
This comment one is a little tricky. I can't place it in the comment without going thru hoops because Blogger will read it as html text and hyperlink it.
I will mail the code to both of you. Just store in a txt file on the desktop and change the parameters and insert in the comments. That's what I do.
Just a tip : when using it, preview the comment to check if you are getting the results you want :)
IQ - yup, I meant links in comments (d'oh@self) - thanks for the mail
