Thot bubbled #33
Isn't 'Dove' too much of a skin care brand to make much headway in the hair care segment? I'm sure HLL would have considered this disconnect. Question: Will the 'Dove' line of hair care products succeed in India? Laura Ries might say extending the 'Dove' brand name to hair care products is a bad idea. Is it? I think it is. Oops.

i agree...reminds me of ponds toothpaste...which never took off for similar reasons. i guess!
Uber M
just noticed at thot bubbled # 33, you are almost 25% of the thot blurbs...are you planning to take over thot blurb( a la Corus deal) LOL...just kidding..
keep the thots coming...am loving it!!
yeah manish. Infact i was chatting up with couple of my colleagues on Ponds Toothpaste only the day before.
i too agree with Uber on this. Dove is firmly entrenched in the skin care mindspace and rather it would be difficult for consumers to shift it to the haircare space.
Lets wait and see
Hopefully, my stock won't fall a la TATA Motors, after the Corus deal.
As someone who uses Dove haircare products, I disagree to some extent. core brand values of softness, anti harsh chem and moisturiser applied to their conditioners and special shampoos. sure, they won't be giving sunsilk a run for their money anytime soon but I don't see an immediate disconnect. Incidentally, hair silk and skin silk has v similar packaging..
You'll have to go with a woman's take on this. I too like Kajal feel that Dove-hair is not as disconnected as a Ponds tooth paste.
I myself being a target "consumer" of Dove products can tell you that i'd look forward to Dove hair-care.
To me it means that my hair will get the same kind of softning and moisturing as my skin does with Dove products.
Its a logical line extension. the health of your hair and skin go hand in hand. Look around you! You'll see that people with glowing skin have shiny hair too!
