Valentine's day for Singles

Feb 14 is around the corner and am sure various brands are ready to woo the die hard romantic. Cars, chocolates, mobile phones, airlines, Florists, Computers, Bikes, cameras, ipods, DVD's,Condoms the list is endless. Thinking about it slightly in a different perspective can we have a valentine day for singles? After all the start to falling in love is to love yourself first. So theoretically one is in Love. So what if one is not hooked ? does he need to be left behind in the celebration frenzy ?

Valentine's day is a blessing. The day men really explore their hearts to find out who means what to them, the day women around are reassured that all is still intact. Imagine the thought of trying to express love to a teenager in a pinafore and all the difficulty in expression, No after thought of what is to be just that moment when you feel you need to express it for it has long been stored...
Similarly many decades after that the feeling is still the same... the urge to just hold hands and say I wish we are always there for each other....
Its a day of expression so singles can celebrate it if they learn to express their feelings to their loved ones. It really is not the materialistic gift women of today need they can get all their desires fullfilled as most of them are self sustaining. They miss the real happiness of the word called "Togetherness..."
They need time to be with, just be with in totality, without the cellphones ringing, without the industry calling, without anyone else... just some old time romance of telling enough lies and escaping to the thrilling long drive... to those days of togetherness. I hope you will find a way to express too. This way you are bound to be never single for any valentines day ever in your life.
Love from the heart can bring the maximum out of a woman. So the advertisements are a tool to make men of today to try and express... but the reality is expression in words and action... just hold hands be there....

huh? blessing? really, it's a corporate marketing device to me.

and as a woman, my boyfriend buying me chocolate on 14th feb certainly doesnt reassure me that all is 'intact'. I don't see him exploring his heart either.

not that im searching for validation or reassurace via valentine's day. it's so damn cheesy!!

but back to the point. sure celebrate the self. how do you make that sexy tho? coz dinner for one, spa weekend for one, movie for one... just doesnt do it to me. how about treat yourself, indulge in your favorite night in so you dont have to see soppy couples snogging all over the place. and we do a whole package - meal, movie, drinks, music at your place. invite ur single friends n have even more fun. we used to do sthg like this in london on girls nights in.. and brands do cash in on it.. esp beauty, entertainment and lingerie. in fact some like ann summers sponsor hen nights and top shop had a girly day out deal once... interesting... 12 days, best single celebration idea wins amul chocolate?!
